As a 12-year-old, given an assignment in my 7th grade English class to write a Thanksgiving poem, I decided to explore how a turkey might feel about our traditional Thanksgiving feast. More than 50 years later, when presented with a "fingerpainting" of a turkey, done by my 5-month-old granddaughter (with help from her parents), I was inspired to convert my old poem into a children's book, using Lila's artwork. I added a few touches and some photographs to complete the book. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed putting it all together.
